Description:
Gonzalez Rebar is hiring 18 General Laborers to work in the Caddo and
Claiborne, LA counties from April 1, 2025 until December 23, 2025. Workers are
expected to perform tasks involving physical labor at construction sites. May
operate hand and power tools of all types. May clean and prepare sites, dig
trenches, set braces to support the sides of excavations, erect scaffolding, and
clean up rubble, debris, and other waste materials. Control traffic passing near,
in, or around work zones. Clean or prepare construction sites to eliminate
possible hazards. Signal equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement,
or adjustment of machinery, equipment, or materials. Dig ditches or trenches,backfill excavations, or compact and level earth to grade specifications, using
picks, shovels, pneumatic tampers, or rakes. Mix, pour, or spread concrete,
using portable cement mixers. Operate pumps, compressors, or generators to
provide power for tools, machinery, or equipment or to heat or move materials,
such as asphalt. Erect or dismantle scaffolding, shoring, braces, traffic
barricades, ramps, or other temporary structures. Work outside in extreme
weather conditions (heat and cold). Load and unload building materials,
machinery or tools. Clean job site and keep free from safety hazards. Lift up to
75 lbs.
No experience, education or training reuqired. All equipment and materials
provided at no charge to the workers. Employer expects a Monday - Friday
schedule from 7:00am - 4:00 pm, but due to the nature of work, days/times may
vary due to factors such as weather. Standard pay will be $19.19 w/ overtime
$28.79 if applicable. Pay will be issued at least once every two weeks, typically
on Friday by the end of the work day, and a single work week will be used to
compute.The Employer will make all deduction paychecks that are required by
law. Employer will reimburse within the first week of employment all visa, visa
processing, border crossing, and other related fees, as mandated, and not
exceeding mandated reimbursements. If the worker completes 50% of the work
contract period, employer will reimburse the worker for transportation and
subsistence. Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is
dismissed earlier, employer will provide or pay for worker's reasonable costs of
return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker
originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to
subsequent employment with another employer. The amount of transportation
payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable
common carrier for the distances involved. Daily subsistence will be provided at
a rate of $15.88 per day during travel to a maximum of $59.00 per day with
receipts.
